In the year 2000, a group of Chicago-based entrepreneurs came together with the goal of creating a Spanish-speaking public radio station to share and impact art, culture, music, and broadcast high-quality news to the local Latino community.

Hispanic Public Media is a subsidiary of the parent company Hispanic Public Media Foundation.
